Haygrove School Students' Christmas Trip to Cologne

Our recent Christmas trip to Cologne was an unforgettable experience for both students and staff, filled with festive cheer and cultural exploration. It was a pleasure to accompany such a wonderful group of students who were a joy to travel with.

One of the trip’s highlights was a visit to the Chocolate Museum, where students enjoyed learning about the history of Lindt chocolate and sampling many chocolatey treats. We also explored the enchanting Christmas markets, with their twinkling lights, festive stalls, and delicious seasonal snacks.

A visit to the majestic Cologne Cathedral left everyone in awe. Its stunning Gothic architecture and rich history made a lasting impression on all who visited. The students also had the chance to discover the Sports and Olympic Museum, where they explored the inspiring history of athletics and the Olympic Games. Many were able to try out different sporting challenges and the opportunity to play football on the rooftop pitch was very exciting indeed.

The motor enthusiasts among us were delighted by our trip to Motor World, where students marvelled at a collection of rare and classic cars.

The highlight for many was our visit to Bayer 04 Leverkusen's home ground, where some students even had the exciting opportunity to meet a few of the players briefly following their training session! This was a truly memorable experience for football fans.

Throughout the trip, our students displayed excellent behaviour and enthusiasm, making it a pleasure to share these experiences with them. We thank all the students for their positive attitudes and the staff who made this trip possible.

We look forward to future adventures!
