Celebrating Student Engagement at the Spring Personal Development Afternoon
Yesterday afternoon, our students participated in a highly engaging and interactive Spring Personal Development afternoon.
Each year group followed a bespoke timetable tailored to their development programme, including:
- British Sign Language: Students had the opportunity to learn and practice this essential communication skill.
-
Glastongrove Planning and Fundraising for Action for Zambia: Exciting plans afoot for our big Glastongrove celebrations and a discussion about how we can fundraise for our school's charity.
-
Praise Assembly: A moment to celebrate achievements and attendance among our students.
-
Creative Arts Carousel: Staff from Bridgwater & Taunton College set up an exciting carousel in the Sports Hall for our Year 9 students, sparking creativity and curiosity.
- Introduction to Social Sciences: Year 10 students were introduced to the fascinating world of social sciences by the knowledgeable staff from Bridgwater & Taunton College.
-
Team Building Activities: These activities focused on collaboration, teamwork and confidence, enhancing their interpersonal skills. Students also had to show their resilience to keep trying to overcome some of the more trickier challenges.
-
Focused Study Time: Year 11 students dedicated time to concentrate on Maths and English, ensuring they are well-prepared for their upcoming exams.
The afternoon was not only useful and productive but also provided a strong sense of belonging among students. It was heartening to see our students so engaged and making the most of the opportunities presented to them.
