Year 11 student Livvy Payne has been commended on her recent fundraising efforts with the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS). From a young age, Livvy has had moderate mixed Bi-lateral hearing loss, but that hasn't stopped her achieving and thriving at school. With help from NDCS as well as our own brilliant staff, Livvy has thrived in school, having access to the same learning opportunities as other students and impressing everyone throughout her time at Haygrove. Livvy said "I've atteneded camps with NDCS before. They really help people with hearing difficulties have fun, learn and take part in the same leisure activities which they might not be able to otherwise. I was also able to work towards and obtain the John Muir Award which involved learning and completing activities based on ecosystems and protecting the environment."
NDCS were taken away by Livvy's story and approached her, asking if she would like to be a part of their fundraising campaign. By sharing Livvy's story, over £30,000 has been raised in just 6 months through donations by people inspired by our deputy head girl's fantastic achivements in and out of school.
