During Year 11, students are given support to apply for Further Education or training courses and the school works with local Colleges to provide Taster Days as appropriate. Students will also produce a Record of Achievement which celebrates their successes both at in an beyond school.
Students have the opportunity to meet with our Head of Careers in either a drop in session during break and lunch time or through a booked appointment, which can be made via their tutor.
Students have help on completing College Application Forms, and work within tutor time at completing their Record of Achievement. Students are given up-to-date information on College Open Days and Evenings, apprenticeship opportunities and local employment.
At the end fof Year 11, the majority of our student choose to progress to Further Education. The local institutions offering courses are:

A Levels and AS Levels continue to be a popular choice, but students are abl.e to combine academic and vocational courses. Some specialised courses are available, e.g. Land-based Industries at Bridgwater and Taunton College's Cannington Centre.
For those students who are unsure of which route to follow, pre-vocational 'sampler' courses are available. Students may also wish to apply for a Work Based Learning programme, which covers Advanced and Foundation Modern Apprenticeships.
